In Maharashtra total 23 Private Medical Colleges are approved by National Medical Commission (NMC). Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India and Participating in NEET Counselling. Out of these 23 Private Medical colleges, 16 Private Medical Colleges are allotted to Rest of Maharashtra region, 5 Private Medical Colleges are allotted to Vidarbha region and 2 Private Medical College are allotted to Marathwada region. In Maharashtra the best Private Medical Colleges ranks as follows, Smt.Kashibai Navale Medical College, Pune, N.K.P.Salve Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education & Research,Talegaon, Pune, Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences & Research , Latur, Dr.Punjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh Memorial Medical College, Dr.Vasantrao Pawar Medical College,Hospital & Research Centre, Padmashree Dr.Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation Medical respectively. In Maharashtra state total 3270 MBBS Seats available in Private Medical Colleges. Maharashtra has only one Minority Medical College i.e. Indian Institute of Medical Science & Research, Jalna. In Maharashtra one new Medical College Bharatratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Medical College, Pune approved by NMC during 2022-23 Academic Year. In Maharashtra two new private Medical Colleges approved by NMC during 2023-24 Academic Year namely Dr.Rajendra Gode Medical college. Amaravati and Parbhani Medical College, Pharbani.
